Joel P. Longares admits to run as governor in 2013 election

ROXAS CITY – Members of the media and the residents of Brgy. Dinginan here openly heard the admittance of Mr. Joel Longares to run as governor of the province in the 2013 election. Longares was one of the guests present during the consultation meeting conducted at Brgy. Dinginan, Roxas City last Oct. 2, 2011.
Longares was introduced by Engr. Jun Labao, a major benefactor of Ugyon Kita Capiz who does not hesitate to share his blessings by extending assistance to the barangays that are not taken cared of by the administration.
Cornered by the introduction of Labao, Longares was not able to deny and openly disclosed to the public of his plan for the position. He (Longares) admitted that he wants to join with the political arena in the province of Capiz because of his desire to help attain progress and development. Longares said he will share to the provincial government his expertise in the field of management and agriculture.
Also present during the said consultation meeting former city councilors Dennis Altobano and Ramon “Monchit” Albar.
The incumbent city councilors who also attended the activity were Hon. Jose “Joe” Agdalipe and Hon. Carla Abela.
The incumbent barangay captains of the different barangays also present were Hon. Melanie Elicana of Brgy. Cogon, Romeo de Felipe of Punta Tabuc, Ildefonso Tobillo of Brgy. III, Arthur Arcangeles of Tanque, Randee Albar of Lawaan, Manuel Aninang of Olotayan, Jose Barrera of Brgy. Bato, and Sanny Llamas of Brgy. Baybay.
Rodelio Artillero and Roland Clarito, former barangay captains of Brgy. Dumulog and Culajao, respectively, were also present. Mr. Jojie Avelino and his cousin Edmund Avelino of Pontevedra, Capiz also graced the activity, while BM Jeffrey Layo was able to catch up but was late.
Former City Mayor Vic Bermejo was also expected to be present but he was called by Vice President Jejomar “Jojo” Binay. Bermjeo went to Manila a day before the scheduled consultation meeting at Brgy. Dinginan to respond to the Vice President’s call.
More than 1,500 residents of Dinginan received gantas of rice and grocery packs courtesy of Joel P. Longares, Engr. Jun Labao, and the members of Ugyon Kita Capiz.
